1. Who we are

Styl AI is the data controller for personal data processed through https://getstylai.app. Contact: support@getstylai.app.

2. What we collect

When you use our service, we collect:

• Email address (only if you sign in or subscribe)
• The photo you upload
• The generated analysis graphic
• Payment information processed by Stripe (we never see or store full card details)
• Usage analytics via PostHog: pages visited, buttons clicked, completion rates — pseudonymous unless you sign in
• Error reports via Sentry: stack traces, browser info, anonymised request data — only when something breaks

3. Why we collect it and the legal basis

We process your data on these legal bases under UK GDPR:

• Performance of contract: to deliver the analysis you paid for
• Legitimate interests: to detect abuse, debug errors, improve the product
• Consent: where required by law (e.g. non-essential analytics in the EU/UK)

4. How long we keep it

• Uploaded photos: deleted automatically after 24 hours
• Generated analysis graphics: 30 days for one-off purchases, lifetime of account for subscribers
• Email + account data: until you ask us to delete it, or 12 months of inactivity
• Payment records: 6 years (UK tax law requirement)
• Sentry error logs: 90 days
• PostHog analytics: 12 months

5. Who we share it with

We use the following processors:

• Stripe — payment processing (Ireland and US)
• Supabase — database and auth (US, with EU options)
• fal.ai — AI image generation (US)
• OpenAI — AI image generation backbone (US)
• Resend — transactional email (US)
• Vercel — hosting (US, with EU regions)
• Sentry — error tracking (Germany)
• PostHog — product analytics (EU region selected)

Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards as required by UK GDPR.

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email support@getstylai.app. We respond within one calendar month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we handle your data.

7. Cookies and similar tech

We use first-party cookies for sign-in sessions and the PostHog analytics cookie. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We don't currently show a cookie banner because our cookies are limited to those necessary for service operation and basic analytics for which we rely on legitimate interests under UK guidance.

8. Children

Our service is not for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly process data from children under 16. If you believe a child has used our service, contact us immediately and we will delete their data.

9. Changes

We update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated via email if you have an account.
